Book Swapping for a Cause

After a casual coffee morning conversation last Fall about books, the Shanghai Mamas Book Swap was back for round two last weekend with an even bigger selection of books and many happy readers! There were close to 2000 books, from baby to tween to adult, available thanks to the community who dropped and swapped pre-loved books. Over 1300 RMB was raised and all remaining books will be donated to A Pleines Main (APM) charity.

We of course couldn’t have organised this without our dedicated Shanghai Mamas volunteers. Special shout out goes to Sarah Cox for leading our Book Swap efforts and to Melanie Ham for being our gracious host. Thanks as well to Sarah Krasicki, Laetitia Lemin, Rosie King, Vicki Li, Cordy Crockett and Carolyn Wang. Shanghai Mamas is also incredibly grateful to our long-time partners at Abbey Road and Geneva restaurants for being central book drop locations.

We will be back once more in the Fall for another book swap, so stay tuned and be on the lookout for details.
