We are a French/Austrian family moving back to Europe after 7 years in Shanghai. Of all the things we will dearly miss from this great city, Grace will definitely be our biggest loss.
Grace has been part of our family for the last two and half years. She took care and watched over my two sons (now almost 3 years and 7 months old) from right after my maternity leave when my first son was only 4 months old until the day we left Shanghai. She took care of our second boy from the day he was born.
On the professional side, Grace is a great pedagogue, hardworking, reliable, punctual and most importantly loves children. She can take care of a newborn baby as well as a 3 years old full of energy. She is also curious and always strives to improve (completed her Montessori course, taking English lessons on the weekends….). As my Chinese is very limited, it was a real luxury to be able to communicate with Grace fluently in English.
I can confidently say that she has done an amazing job as our big boy is a very happy, social and curious one and our second is also a very happy baby.
On a personal side, Grace comes to work every morning with a smile and good energy. She has great values (very aligned to those of a Western/European family), is patient in teaching but also capable of saying no to kids.
We felt so comfortable with Grace that we even left our two sons with her in Shanghai on several occasions when we both had to travel for work or took away for a weekend.
Last summer, during my maternity leave, Grace accompanied us in France for three months. She adapted very well and was of great help.
I feel truly grateful that we had the chance to have Grace in our family and life. We will truly miss her and wish her all the best in the future.
