Tuesday 5th June, 12-1.30pm “Emotional Luggage” talk

Shanghai Mamas are proud to collaborate with Body & Soul to bring you this talk with Julia Sollnner, a certified personal and business coach and trainer. With a combination of psychological counseling and coaching, she assists clients finding their path or dealing with personal crisis. She has a vast experience helping people with concerns such as stress, relationship and family issues, work-life-balance and communication problems among others.

Talk Overview: Being an expat is not only a major move in obvious things (packing, moving to another country, settling down in a new home, etc.). The ongoing inner processes of the mind also play a big role. “Emotional luggage” shows up quite often in times of rearranging life. It has to be taken into consideration but also reevaluated – is it still up to date? Who am I when everything changed? Who do I want to be? Which values are important for me – and which not anymore? This talk will help participants get aware of the big changes faced when relocating, understand which role our emotional luggage and internalized believes are playing and realize what a big chance for a new beginning it can be.

Tuesday 12 June, 12-1.30pm – “Family Tree Therapy” talk

Shanghai Mamas are proud to collaborate with Body & Soul to bring you this talk with Bibiana Rueda-Bueno. Bibiana is a holistic psychologist who offers her patients with tools to be more conscious, get rid of thoughts, feelings and behaviors preventing them from being truly happy in the present moment.

Talk Overview: The family tree is a graphical representation of the ancestors and descendants of an individual. The representation is done in an organized and systematic way where one exposes his/her ancestors, their beliefs, their experiences, ideas and ways of thinking that are inherited from generation to generation. The family acts as a mold and, without realizing it, one tends to fit in and feel accepted. On many occasions, without being aware of it, this adaptation is performed according to the inherited toxic patterns which limit an individual, leading to dissatisfaction.

Learn how the study of the family tree allows to discover all those unconscious dynamics that drive one’s life, forcing one to repeat inherited patterns and create distance from his/her authenticity.
