Here you can find information about the many events that we are hosting in April and May, including weekly coffee meetups which now happen every single weekday, Book Club and other special events (check website for details and locations).

 

Monthly coffee mornings

 

Mondays 16, 23, April and 7, 14, 21, 28 May – Downtown coffee morning

This takes place every Monday from 10.30am, and all Shanghai Mamas, Papas, friends, and helpers are welcome. There is a wide menu of options and a safe play area for littles to run around while you chat. If you are interested in attending, find me on WeChat at Hannah_Zheng_ and I can add you in.

Tuesdays 10, 17, 24 April and 8, 15, 22, 29 May – Xintiandi coffee morning

This takes place every Tuesday from 10 am until noon at Sproutworks Xintiandi store, with special breakfast details available for mamas. Outside tables also available for sunny days! The group QR code is listed below.

Wednesdays 11, 18, 25 April and 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 May – Hongqiao coffee morning

This takes place every Wednesday around 10 am-noon. Everyone is welcome, including mamas, ayis and friends and little ones. If you are interested in attending, please find group owner Siobhan on WeChat at WeChat ID SiobhanBrown.

Thursdays 12, 19, 26 April and 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 May – Jinqiao coffee morning

This takes place every Thursday from 10am. Come along and join us with your little ones at Moon Space Café in Jinqiao, and enjoy a cup of coffee while your little ones play in the jungle gym! If you are interested in attending, find me on WeChat at Hannah_Zheng_ and I can add you in.

Fridays 13, 20, 27 April and 4, 11, 18, 26 May – Lujiazui coffee morning

This takes place every Friday mornings from 10 am until 12.30 pm or thereabouts. Please join us for coffee and delicious baked goods, the more, the merrier! Tuesday 10 April – April book club

The Shanghai Mamas Book Club will be meeting Tuesday 10th April to discuss the April 2018 book selection – City of Lies by Ramita Navai. Reading the book is not a requirement for joining us – if you are in need of a night out, some adult conversation and maybe some adult food/drink – join us! If you’re interested in following but can’t make the meeting, join our WeChat group!

Friday 20 April, 7pm – a book talk with Antonella Moretti

 One of members, Antonella, will be doing a book talk at Garden Books on Changle Road about her debut novel about women’s expat life in China. See the flyer below for more details.

 

Tuesday 24 April, 10am – Stay & Play at Little Bugz

We are proud to bring you a stay & play session with one of new partners, Little Bugz. We are able to offer this free of charge to the first thirty families who register, please join our WeChat group for further details.

 

 

Tuesday April 24, 12-1.30 pm-“Let us teach you how to be a better parent!”

Shanghai Mamas are proud to collaborate with Body & Soul to bring you this talk with Bibibana Rueda, a holistic psychologist, who offers a talk on parenthood. The talk will provide parents with positive affirmations as well as ideas and practical tools to maintain inner balance and become the conscious parents every need child needs to grow up beautifully.

Sunday 29 April – Tuesday 1 May – Hand in Hand music festival

Hand in Hand is the China’s first international music festival for the whole family, started by a Shanghai Mamas member! The festival was founded by Shanghai-based American journalist Rebecca Kanthor and her Chinese musician and author husband Liu Jian. They created the festival to allow their children, and all children in China, to experience live music from around the world and learn about different cultures through music.

 

Tuesday 8th May, 7pm – April book group

Saturday 12 May – More Than Aware fun run

We have a team participating in More Than Aware’s annual fun run, which raises awareness and funds for breast cancer prevention and recovery – if you’re going to be there, look out the our team!
