At the annual meet and greet meeting on Monday this week, we were very pleased to share some good news about Baby Jill, a baby that we helped to support via a fundraising luncheon last year.
Baby Jill was under the care of the Baobei Foundation, a Shanghai-based charity that provides surgeries and post-surgical rehabilitation for Chinese orphans with life-threatening birth defects. Baby Jill had at least four major surgeries and extended hospital stays whilst under the care of the Baobei Foundation for issues as complex as spina bifida, heart issues, anal atresia, club feet and other issues. At our fundraising luncheon last year, we were very proud to raise over 20,000 RMB towards the cost of her care.
Baby Jill is now living in Georgia in the United States with her new adoptive family, where she has been for a couple of months. It’s wonderful see the most recent pictures of her, in which she looks very much better than when we first met her. Thanks to everyone who contributed towards our fundraising efforts!
