Mom's of La Leche League Coffee Morning Tomorrow

Hi Mums,

Informal coffee morning for the mamas of  La Leche League coming up.  Come join us for a coffee/tea/drink!  The group is a mix of pregnant and nursing mamas and their babies.  Older children, husbands, and family are welcome too.  There will be no leader attending this meeting as the resident leader has family obligations.  It’ll be a great opportunity to get together and chat about all things boobies and babies.  I hope to see you there!

Are there contacts through La Leche for post delivery to help with lactation consultations? My husband and I live in Jiangsu province but I will be delivering in Shanghai. A friend from back home who is a lactation consultant and OBGYN RN said to ask around for a lactation consultant in the city in the event that we are struggling with breastfeeding the first few days in Shanghai so that I can get some help if necessary. I am not for certain if my hospital has anyone (we are delivering at Shanghai East International Medical Center).

I don’t know whether or not Shanghai East has an IBCLC on staff and even if they do they may not be present at or around the time you give birth.  It’s a great idea to have someone’s number on hand.  Louise Roy is both a La Leche League leader and a Lactation Educator.  I’m not sure how she separates her time with those two roles but her La Leche League phone number is:  182-2118-4642.  For her breastfeeding services you can catch her through her website or her mobile:  135-2438-4642.  The other La Leche League leaders and IBCLCs that I know of are currently on holiday.  When are you due as some of the other folks I know of may return by then?  We also have a Shanghai based Breastfeeding Mamas WeChat group that you are welcome join. I am due in November 🙂 I added you on Wechat and would love to be added to the breastfeeding mamas group – I am really nervous about this and completely lost when it comes to what I need to know and what I need to have ahead of time etc (FTM here :P).
