Tips for buying party tickets
September 20, 2016 at 3:16 PMHello everyone,
We’re so excited to be planning the 10 year anniversary party for Shanghai Mamas. The vendors are BACK the rain plan is SET the music will be on and we are going to replace our raffle with a ‘lucky duck’ draw.
Yoopay has once again generously offered to partner with us in selling tickets. If you have been living in China for a while, you have no doubt bought things online using your Wepay Wallet/Alipay/online banking already, so this is no problem. But if you have never used it before, then I wanted to give a few tips.
- You can use English! If you have extracted you Yoopay QR code on your phone (if you see it in a message you can just hold your thumb on it for a while and it will ‘extract’ the information and take you to the page) it will be in English. It should automatically come up in English, but just in case, or if you prefer it in Chinese, you can change the language preference in the top right corner.
- You can use a credit card, even if it not Chinese. There were a few local credit cards from Europe last year that had issues. But Visa/Mastercard worked well.
- It will say ‘opening in a 2nd window’ or something like that. Do nothing, just wait, the Yoopay is processing and you will be directed to put in the payment information automatically.
- You can do this in your browser on your computer if you prefer! https://yoopay.cn/event/ShanghaiMamasParty2016?
- There are a limited number of early bird tickets for both adults and children! Buy them before 10/10 (get it? ten years…ten…yeah, we were excited too)
- Every single person coming through the gate at YCIS needs to have a separate ticket. Children two and under are free, but they will need their own ticket.
- All tickets must be presented either on your phone, or you can print them out beforehand. But we will need to scan something to let you in so we know everyone has read and signed the liability form for YCIS. If you are buying for your children, clearly we know you are signing on their behalf, but it’s a legal requirement.
There is also going to be another event in November that will be a smaller, less children-y, much boozier affair. Once details for that are set, we’ll get those tickets out there.
If you’re still stuck please don’t hesitate to send me a message and I will do my utmost to assist you. I really can’t wait to see everyone there!
