#UglyChristmasforHeart2Heart

Each year, since 2018, The Shanghai Collective has hosted ‘The Ugly Christmas Jumper Party’ to raise funds for Heart to Heart Shanghai. To date, our donations have helped fund the life-saving heart surgeries of six children aged from 3 months to 8 years.

This year, although we are unable to host the party, we want to continue helping the children.

From now until the 31st December we are asking the community to give generously to The Shanghai Collective’s Heart to Heart Fundraiser with 100% of donations funding life-saving, and life-changing, heart surgery for underprivileged children.

To donate, scan the Heart to Heart QR in the flyer and remember, every little bit counts!!

To spread the word, and so our wonderfully ugly Christmas sweaters don’t stay hidden in the closet this Christmas, post a selfie in your moments of you wearing your Ugly Christmas Sweater and hashtag #UglyChristmasforHeart2Heart

About Heart to Heart

Heart to Heart is a special fund of Ren De Foundation.  “We are a Shanghai based charity which provides corrective surgery for Chinese children from all over China with congenital heart disease (CHD) whose parents are unable to afford the surgery.  To date H2H has sponsored over 2,168 children for heart surgery. The surgeries not only saved their lives, but transformed the lives of their families.

Heart to Heart is proud of the fact that we are and always have been a 100% volunteer organization. We have no paid employees. We also have a $0 operating budget which means that 100% of donations are spent for surgeries. Sponsors are given documentation on where their donations were spent and can also visit the children while the children are in the hospital for their surgery. Sponsoring a child is a truly moving experience.”

Who Are The Shanghai Collective?

“We hope to inspire and excite in a way that makes people want to get involved, to enrich the expat experience and build a dynamic community”

Formed in 2017, by Sarah Krasicki and Janette Seach, The Shanghai Collective are an enthusiastic and like-minded bunch of expats who share a love of bringing people together to build community.

Entirely independent and volunteer run, The Shanghai Collective work to foster collaboration between businesses, expat small enterprise and local charity as well as leverage the talents and expertise of members of the community. In 2017 The Shanghai Collective created the first Christmas WeChat group for people to crowd source and share information on everything and anything Christmas related in Shanghai. The group quickly grew to 500 Christmas lovers and a second Christmas WeChat group was created. Today the groups have over 900 members and are still growing.
In 2018, The Shanghai Collective hosted the first Ugly Christmas Jumper Party to raise funds for Heart to Heart Shanghai. With a Christmas themed quiz, an enormous raffle and everyone wearing their ugliest Christmas jumper it was a night to remember. They went on to host the fundraiser again in 2019 (Ugly Jumper Party Raises Over 40,000 RMB for Heart to Heart!) and 2020 and donated the funds to Heart to Heart sponsoring the life-saving heart surgery for six underprivileged children.

We choose to support Heart to Heart Shanghai because they are a 100% volunteer run, not-for-profit organisation with complete transparency as to how the money we donate is spent.
