Meet Our Newest Sponsor – Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong

Hello, Shanghai Mamas!

Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong is proud to announce our partnership supporting Shanghai Mamas as an organizational sponsor and join them in celebrating their 15th year as a pillar of the Shanghai expatriate community.

Our College has been a leader in international education in Shanghai, and in greater China, since 2003 and our sister school Dulwich London enjoys a pedigree of over 400 years, so we know a thing or two about how hard it is to build a tradition that passes the test of time. For us, like the Shanghai Mamas, it comes down to having a strong community built around shared values.

We are an independent international school serving over 1600 expatriate English-speaking students across 3 schools – DUCKS (ages 2-7), Junior School (ages 8-11) and Senior School (ages 12-18). Our students come from over 40 countries, creating a culturally rich environment. We are located in idyllic Jinqiao, 20 minutes from Lujiazui and 30 minutes from Xintiandi.

Up to Year 9 (Grade 8) our students follow the English National Curriculum, enhanced to meet the needs of our international student body. DUCKS Early Years students follow the UK Early Years Foundation Stage framework with a Dual Language approach. In Years 10 and 11 (Grades 9 and 10) students follow the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) curriculum, a two-year course culminating in externally assessed examinations. In Years 12 and 13 (Grades 11 and 12) all our students enter the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme.

We are accredited by WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges), CIS (Council of International Schools), IBO (International Baccalaureate Organization) and ACAMIS (Association of China and Mongolia International Schools) to name just a few.

Dulwich Pudong students enjoy the benefits of a holistic education. Students take advantage of a rich co-curricular programme that builds team and leadership skills. Many of our co-curricular activities are student-initiated and led. Across the College, there are dance, drama, creative arts, music, sports, robotics, academic societies, language and service groups. Service is a hallmark of Dulwich Pudong, with students actively involved in the local area as well as globally. Student wellbeing is a prime focus for our College and is included in the curriculum in Senior School.

As part of Dulwich College International, students at our school have the opportunity to benefit from a broad range of partnerships with globally renowned institutions such as The Royal Shakespeare Company, Berklee School of Music, the Vienna Boys Choir as well as regular master classes with professionals who have reached the pinnacle of their respective fields.

Mandarin language learning is also a strength of our College. Our students can choose three different language tracks depending on interest and aptitude with many students choosing to do a dual language IB in both English and Mandarin. Our Wo Hui Mandarin learning platform is an official partner of the HSK.

Our academic outcomes speak for themselves. In 2021 our students averaged 39 (out of 45) on the IB against a global average of 33, three of our students scored perfect 45, while three others scored 44.

Our university acceptances track record indicates that Dulwich Pudong students continue to be very attractive to the best universities in the US, the UK, China and the world. Our students know what they want and are well equipped to go after it. Our alumni network is growing in number and strength. You can find Dulwich alumni all over the world making a difference in their respective fields.

We look forward to sharing our stories with you throughout this next academic year, and being part of the stories you are creating as well.
