Snow falling on the willow pagonda at Wen Miao Confucian Temple in the Old Town. The place was deserted on this mid-January day, but was one of the most beautiful places in the city.
Welcome to the Shanghai My Eye! photoblog project. Each entry features one photo taken somewhere around town that speaks in some way to the experience of living in this mad and marvelous metropolis. The goal is to build up a collection of images of Shanghai as seen through the eye of the www.shanghaimamas.org community – beautiful, strange, surprising, alarming, amazing. So please, send me your photos, along with a short paragraph about what the image means to you.
Email contributions to: kelliehenry @ shanghaimamas.org You are welcome to submit as many photos as you like, but separately please – only one photo and description per email.
Gorgeous photo Melanie. Send some of that fluffy snow up North please, it is freezing cold, but not a speck of snow to be seen!! My parents are desperate to see some fall before they go back to Australia. Enjoy that white beauty while it lasts.
Funny Melissa! The other title I was considering for the picture is “Shanghai dresses like Beijing”
We had a whopping 11cm yesterday. It melted very fast, but was fun while it lasted!
