Volunteer With Stepping Stones to Teach English to Migrant Children

Do you…

Speak English fluently and confidently?

Enjoy interacting with children?

Want to improve the education and general welfare of disadvantaged children?

English is one of the three core subjects in the Chinese school curriculum and one of the biggest differentiators between urban and rural children. Stepping Stones is recruiting enthusiastic volunteers to join its English Teaching Program in migrant schools and community centers of Shanghai, for the Fall Semester (September 2021 – January 2022). Training sessions will be held in late August and September. Volunteers should be able to commit to teaching once a week for a full school term with a minimum of 8 weeks of teaching.

Volunteers can also join their online teaching programs Videolink or Home Classroom to teach English through the Internet to left-behind children in rural China. Check out their website and register as a volunteer!

Stepping Stones China is a not-for-profit charitable organisation registered in Shanghai, with a mission to improve the education and general welfare of disadvantaged children in China. Stepping Stones currently recruits, trains, coordinates, and supports hundreds of volunteers to teach thousands of students in more than 30 migrant schools and community centers in Shanghai and Zhejiang province. Over the years, our program has expanded to English teaching via Videolink, Home Classroom, teacher training and teachers’ English Corner, computer classes and providing eye care provisions for migrant and left-behind children in Shanghai and rural China.
