Not sure about you, but the descriptive sentence ‘strange and unusual times’ makes me want to throw my coffee cup…yet, here we are in strange times indeed. It’s farewell season, and this year the organization Shanghai Mamas is losing some longtime friends and supporters.
We are the longest running international parent support community in Shanghai. We aren’t a big company or owned by another corporation, but are a small group of international parents who organically create content, moderate chat groups, and organize events to connect with others. The sole mission of the organization is to support international families to thrive in Shanghai.
It’s a time of transition for the organization since we are losing our founder, our business development coordinator, our editor, and a few other key roles. We are looking for new and fresh faces to join the team at all levels. To speak frankly, we have lasted 16 years in the city, but to continue we need people to join the team…
- Do you love to write or take photos?
- Do you have a passion for event organizing?
- Do you want to moderate WeChat communities?
- Would you like to learn more about the legal side of running a business in China?
- Do you have a vision for how to steer Shanghai Mamas into the next decade?
Now is your chance to throw you hand in the air!
If you have time and energy to spare, we can find a volunteer role for you. Getting involved with Shanghai Mamas is a great way to keep the skills on your CV sharp and to pick up some new talents as you learn the nuances of operating a business in China. Shanghai Mamas is a registered company and has legal licenses to operate in the sector. We are financially stable (even profitable) thanks to our sponsors, but all funds currently are re-invested back into the community.
