Hello Shanghai Mamas, We are Wellington!
You’ve probably heard of us before – we’re “the famous school” in Qiantan, Pudong.
Never been to Qiantan? It’s worth the trip, if not for us, then for The Cheesecake Factory at Taikoo Li. We’re the only international school right on the Huangpu river. 50% of our parents live in Puxi and 50% live in Pudong – easy bus ride either way.

It’s great to be back as a sponsor! We’re big fans of ShMamas – our organisations have a lot in common – strong values, community spirit, everything revolves around family, and dedication to making the most of life here in Shanghai, one of the best cities in the world.
This year is also a special year for both of us. We’ve just turned 10 and you’re about to turn 20! So, while we’re not quite as venerable as ShMamas, but, like you, we’ve come a long way in a short time and we’re in it for the long haul.

Wellington at a glance:
- Early Years-Year13 school nurturing pupils ages 2-18
- We are a non-profit, there are no investors looking for ROI
- IB curriculum at the top (37.1 average score last year, top 3 in China)
- 50% of our graduates head toward the US and they regularly get offers from the Ivy+ unis and Oxbridge
- We proudly carry on the Wellington DNA from the founding school in the UK; all our alumni are Old Wellingtonians
- Our pupils come from 40+ countries and regions
- Our uniform is the coolest in town

Oh and a super secret piece of news: our Friends of Wellington parent org has just opened their very own coffee shop – FOW Space. It’s just across the street from the school, it’s open to the public and we challenge you to find better coffee in Pudong. They put on a bunch of parent-centric events there and these, too, are open to the public.
Special deal for ShMamas – your first coffee at FOW Space is on us!

Best coffee in Pudong? You decide.
And that’s something that really makes our community special – our parents. They’re super active. They are always doing something interesting – in school and out. Perhaps you’ve heard of – or even been to – the semi-legendary FOW Annual Ball? It’s really something to experience.

We’re a community of like-minded people coming together around our shared purpose: pioneering world class education. Academics come first, of course, but we aren’t going to saddle your kid with a ton of homework just for the sake of it.
Kids need time to try things, find their passion, have fun with their friends, spend quality time with family, make the most of childhood.

We’re also big believers in wellbeing – that’s the foundation for all achievement in life – and it’s baked into our curriculum from Early Years to Sixth Form. How we care for your children is where we really stand apart.
We also seem to be standing out these days for swimming – we’ve got an excellent team! The AquaLions! Everybody is crazy about swimming these days for some reason. If you want to learn more about swimming at Wellington and how it can open up pathways to top US universities, here’s an event for you:
Swim Pathways to Elite Universities

Festival of Education

Our Wellington flagship education conference will take place on our campus on April 12.
It’s always a great day – a chance for parents and educators alike to get a deeper understanding of what’s happening in education today and where it’s heading in the near future.
If you can’t make any of these and you want to get in touch with us for a look around campus, our admissions folks are more than happy to help. That’s us below:
