Q: What is your approach to care?

My approach is to foster communication and build trust with my young patients and their families.

When interacting with patients, especially children, I don’t believe language is a significant obstacle. When they can feel your positive and caring energy, they will feel at ease. The key is creating a safe and comfortable environment for them. I believe that earning patients’ trust leads to better outcomes. When they trust you, they trust your advice, even if they’ve heard differing opinions from different sources. Patients feel comfortable approaching you and seeking reassurance.

Q: Why did you choose Jiahui?

When I was learning about Jiahui, the motto of Jiahui caught my eye, and I thought to myself that Jiahui could be the right place for me. The motto is “Your partner for life”, and I think this is how it should be.

You meet the newborn, then later on, he starts to be two months, four months, six months, then one year. Then he remembers you. He thinks that you’re a family member. Later he knows that you’re a friend. Later on, he knows that you are his doctor. It’s just wonderful when you build such trust with the patient and the parent.

Once you visit Jiahui, the experience you’ll have with our Pediatrics team will exceed your expectations. We have departments for internal disease, vaccination, regular checkup, neonatology, urgent care, pediatrics surgery, pediatrics orthopedics, and pediatric ENT. You will just be impressed.

Q: Tell us more about your journeypursuing a career in medicine.

My brother has a chronic illness and required a kidney transplant at a young age. Watching my mother endure so much pain and sadness, without anyone assuring her that things would be okay, deeply impacted me. It taught me the importance of how we, as doctors, communicate with patients and their families, instilling hope without withholding the truth.

Growing up, I’ve always been someone who is always smiling and optimistic. I’ve always strived to be an attentive listener and someone others can rely on. This has been the comments my family and peers have shared with me, which inspired me to pursue a career as a physician.

During my post-bachelor’s training, I realized that children took a liking to me when I was completing a rotation in Pediatrics. Parents I was working with would tell me about their children’s fondness for me. I’ve heard children say things like, ‘This guy is cool, we want to visit him again.’ It made me think that becoming a pediatrician would be a rewarding path to follow.
